We might even admit - we do this because we are all a bit afraid. Fearful of not being successful, scared of missing our chance and worried that if we ever stop to rest - we will appear value-less.
We even buy things because we want to look good, scared of allowing our personal or self-definition, to be more than the clothes on our back and the phones in our pockets.
But I challenge these fears.
How can one be scared if they've found happiness with themselves? It's true as they say - it is where you spend your time and your money that shows the world what it is that you treasure, or what it is that you love.
Giving to others and creating change in the world is what makes me happy - that is what I treasure. Happiness chaser, change seeker - is I guess what you could call it. This is what I'd like to dedicate my time and my money to. This dream, says more about my character than any outfit I could buy or any Saturday night plan I could create. And I've lost the fear - because I know what makes me happy.
I will be traveling to Tanzania in January as a volunteer teacher for 1 month. Living with a family and teaching kids (5-11 yrs. old), English, math, and science. Education is POWER! - education can change people for the better. That's my cause.
What's yours? What do you want to tell the world about where you spend your time and your money? What is that you treasure in life?
