You share a laugh, pictures, videos, you might even be creating video content, music riffs and blinged out photo collages. You are the quickest adapters to these social means of communcation.
But are you tapping into circle of friends all the possibilities these networks can provide?
These networks are more than just a means to socialize -- they give you access to an extended network of contacts, education and information even beyond your immediate circle of friends.
For example, if you're interested in dance and want to learn how to get involved with a local dance program, try posting a status update or posing a question to your friends about how to get involved and see the response you get. If they don't personally know, I bet you they know someone who does.
What about a difficult algebra or calculus problem or book report--within your circle of friends someone will most definitely have the answer you're looking for and that's just the beginning.
Want an internship, a mentor, references? Put it out there and you'd be surprised who's willing to help.
I SURE AM!
So to recap:
- Social networks are more than just a means to socialize
- Leverage your circle of friends
- Don't be afraid to ask for help
- Girl Fearless
