I know I love to and I'm sure you do too!
But if you want to dance as a hobby or a career then you have to do something about it.
Dancing in your room in front of the mirror isn't enough.
You have to start early and begin to develop your skill and connect yourself to the appropriate outlets so that your dream can become a reality.
I have the privilege of serving on a committee for a program that provides just that for young girls just like you.
Groove With Me, Inc. is based in New York and provides free dance classes and performance opportunities for young girls.
From tap, to hip-hop, ballet, and jazz funk, these girls not only get an opportunity to have fun and do something they love, but they get a chance to bond with one another, become leaders within their groups and feel really great about accomplishing something they set out to do.
So if dancing is what you love, take a cue from these amazing young girls and get involved with a local dance program in your community.
Tonight, as a committee member, I'll be helping to raise funds at their 6th Annual Tap & Tapas event where we'll have food tastings by some awesome NY chefs, dance performances by the girls and a special performance by tap extraordinaire Savion Glover.
