Parents can quite honestly, be way too concerned about things they shouldn't right?
But how do they know unless you communicate with them.
I know for me, growing up, the last thing I wanted to do is sit down and have a conversation with my parents. And they were always overreacting about things I wasn't even doing.
But in hindsight and being given the opportunity to parent a teenage boy myself, the only way to get that trust with your parents so they don't bug you as much is to communicate.
As much as you may think they want to spy and control everything you do, they only have your best interest in mind. They've lived what you are going through and don't want you to have to bear the life lessons they've learned.
So the next time your parents come to you with the dreaded 'talk', open up to them a bit more and let them know what's going on with you.
Minimize their thoughts before they have a chance to get out of control.
We'll listen, I promise :)
