Hard Work Really Does Pay Off!

Ladies, I'm so very excited to announce to you all that yours truly has been featured in a book titled:

Everybody Paddles: Guide to Achieving Partnership, Association, Collaboration and Togetherness by Charles A. Archer.

It was my absolute pleasure and honor to contribute to this book along with my fellow movement ambassadors.

And I owe a large part of that to you all!

Nearly four years ago I embarked on this journey, this passion of mine, to do my part in instilling in young women the things that I carry with me as tools everyday:

   1. Fearlessness
   2. Determination
   3. Dedication
   4. Resilience
   5. Teachability

So this post is in honor of you beautiful young women who continually inspire me to live, lead and walk this life of FEARLESSNESS daily!

The road is never easy, the path is never clear of obstacles, but I promise you, if you give it your all, the path you choose will be successful!

Malaia Simms is GirlFearless!

GirlFearless can have multiple definitions depending on the person you ask. To a rebel, GirlFearless can mean living as if you don’t have a care in the world. To an adventurer, GirlFearless can mean living as if there’s no tomorrow.

I however, believe that GirlFearless is about being PASSIONATE and UNBREAKABLE because when I think of FEARLESS I think of myself as rising to the top without anyone stopping me.

GirlFearless is the key to my way of living. I take my FEARLESSNESS everywhere I go! I am a competitive swimmer and in swimming, FEARLESSNESS is a must have. When I dive into the pool, my  passion for winning drives me to the finish line.

One time during a race I dove into the pool late. I could’ve just let the racers leave me behind, but instead my passion allowed me to chase them and win the race. If I didn’t take my FEARLESSNESS with me I could have just let myself lose the race.

I also take it with me to school. In school you cannot let the distractions, such as unnecessary drama with friends, affect your grades. It is difficult to reach your fullest academic potential in school when you succumb to peer pressure.

Someone who is GirlFearless will never allow themselves to be distracted by the actions of others. My FEARLESSNESS will never be a bad thing and that is why I have it with me at all times.

IT IS MY WEAPON THAT LEADS ME TO SUCCESS!

Welcome to Our Newest Bloggers Malaia & Kalia Simms

GirlFearless family!

I'm very excited to announce the addition of two very special young ladies to our GirlFearless bloggers, Malaia & Kalia Simms.

I met these two young ladies a few months back at a festival while receiving an award for their academic excellence.

Malaia is 14 years old and attends Laguardia Arts High School and for Extra Curricular Activities. She is a singer with the young peoples chorus and travels all around the world with them. She also loves to swim. Her goals for the scholastic school year are to ace all of her classes with a 90 or above.

Kalia is 15 years old and a student at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts . Her extra curricular activities include dancing, singing in a chorus, and swimming on the Bedford Stuyvesant Swimteam. Her scholastic goal for the year is to do the best she can possibly do in all of her classes.

These ladies are a true inspiration so let's give them many warm welcome wishes!

Tips to Curb Nervous Anxiety

Sweaty palms before your recital? Slight nausea before the debate? Mind drawing a blank right before the big final exam?

It happens to the best of us, its called being nervous and guess what it happens. I would beg to even say it happens to the greatest of greats. Have you seen or heard of any government officials looking a bit timid or nervous lately? (wink)

Its quite honestly such a normal feeling. I spoke with a few girls recently on this matter and I completely understand that its frustrating and can sometimes even take you out of your game.

However, even though you're experience it, there are some thing you can do to help curb that feeling.

Here are some tips I've utilized to overcome my bouts of nervousness:

1. Be prepared, practice and know your craft
2. Trust and believe in yourself that you've done the best you can thus far to prepare
3. Do a mental walk through of your performance
4. Be confident, breathe and execute
3. And most importantly have fun!!!

After all, if you're giving and doing your absolute best, THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS!

Time to Soar!

Hello ladies of #GirlFearless,

Today's post is inspired by one of my recent quotes.
The life you lead and the legacy you leave depends on you. What sacrifices are you willing to make to soar? #GirlFearless
This I truly believe depends on the sacrifices you are willing to make today to invest in your dreams and bring them to reality.
Its so very easy to get caught up in the day to day rush of school work, homework, after school activities and curricular activities with friends.
But if you have something you're passionate about, you MUST dedicate your time and energy into honing that craft. And sometimes there are sacrifices to be made in order to accomplish that.
No matter the sacrifices, trust and believe that it will all be worth it in the end.
I compel you to invest and see how much you will SOAR, its only natural, you were born to be great!
I BELIEVE IN YOU!

Goals - Get Some!

Well hello ladies,

Yes I know its been quite sometime since I've posted...even I need to re-prioritize at times and level set on my goals.

And now more than ever, I'm feeling so energized to push forth in all areas of my life.

What I've learned is that it takes an extreme amount of discipline and dedication. And achieving your goals sometimes isn't that easy of a task.

But you have to believe in your purpose and stop at NOTHING to get there.

Don't get me wrong, of course you have to make time for fun, life is in the living, but ACHIEVING is in the giving.

What will you give to reach your goal?

Let's make it happen...I'm with you!

Being Excited About Life!

Hello dear ladies,

Here's today's question: How excited are you about life?!!!

Do you wake up EVERY morning with energy and passion about the things you are doing? Are you smiling from ear to ear with anticipation about what the day has to offer?

I know some days are not as much fun as others, especially those with overwhelming tests or assignments but imagine what this simple shift in your thinking can do.

Every morning, even the dreary ones, I wake up and think about all of the wonderful things I have to be grateful for. And then I think about all the things the day has in store me, and I get excited!

I get excited about the opportunities, I even get excited about the challenges. Scary at times yes, but the challenges are also the opportunities I have to learn about myself or overcome something I didn't think possible.

GirlFearless, its time to get excited about LIFE and what you have to offer, what you have to give and what you can achieve...I know I am!
